Tecuani is a náhuatl word meaning tiger or Jaguar. There are many folklore stories to these and one of my favorite is “La pelea de los tigeres” they would dress and dance. And as they transformed as tigeres they would and fight with ropes in order to get rain . For the pre-Hispanic culture the masks served to conceal the soul, appearance, and personality of the mask wearer into a mystical state in a way to communicate with the supernatural to influence the powerful focus of nature.Has a little bell on tail. This is my version of them. They make a great art piece to anyone’s shelf or space.
